DRIVER
1.0 JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
1.1 The basic function of the driver is to operate several types of trucks/equipment.
1.2 Main duty would be operating a roll-off container truck.
2.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
2.1 The driver reports to and is directly accountable to the Equipment Manger.
3.0 REQUIREMENTS
3.1Education
3.1.1 Required: High School Diploma.
3.1.2 Preferred:
3.2 Licensing / Registration / Certification
3.2.1 Valid CDL Class A and/or Class B Drivers License with clean driving record.
3.3 Experience
3.3.1 Required: None.
3.3.2 Preferred: At least 1 year of construction experience.
3.4 Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
3.4.1 Position requires the ability to follow instructions and operate a variety of related equipment.
3.4.2 The skills to judge distance and slopes accurately and make decisions based on verifiable standards.
3.5 Physical Requirements
3.5.1 The employee must be able to stoop, bend, and crouch.
3.5.2 Must be able to use hands, arms, and legs fully.
3.5.3 Must be able to see well (either naturally or with correction).
3.5.4 Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
3.6 Mental
3.6.1 Must be able to communicate, read and write in English.
4.0 WORKING CONDITIONS
4.1 Work will be preformed mostly outdoors. Workdays will vary depending on weather conditions. There may be days when overtime in needed. Ajax pays time and a half for all hours worked over 40 hours in a week.
4.2 Normal workday will be from 7:30am – 4:00pm.
5.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
5.1 Operate various types of construction related trucks.
5.2 Deliver material & equipment to various locations.
5.3 Must be punctual.
5.4 Assist warehouse crews when not driving/delivering.
6.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
6.1 Complete equipment maintenance checklist beginning each day and prior to each trip.
6.2 Maintain accurate and legible mileage log for vehicles operated.
6.3 Complete all required delivery forms and turn in to equipment manager each day.
6.4 Report any equipment malfunctions and/or problems to equipment manager.
6.5 Clean vehicles each week.
6.6 Be at work on time every workday.
7.0 MEASURES OF PERFORMANCE
7.1 Completes checklist for all trips made on a daily basis.
7.2 Maintains accurate and legible mileage logs for each vehicle.
7.3 Completes and turns in all delivery forms to equipment manager on a daily basis.
7.4 Reports any and all equipment malfunctions immediately to equipment manager.
7.5 Cleans vehicles on a weekly basis.
7.6 Demonstrates regular attendance and punctuality.
